Benedikte Olsen is a visual artist, photographer, and graphic designer working mainly with analog photography and mixed media, developing long-term projects across image and text.

Her work is often described as carrying a quiet tension — a stillness before the storm — inviting curiosity, reflection, and a sense of subtle mystery.

Educated in both photography and graphic design, her practice moves fluidly between artistic and applied work, guided by a strong sense of composition and narrative. She has a particular strength in concept development and identity design, translating ideas and atmospheres into cohesive visual expressions.

Alongside her artistic practice, she has developed visual concepts for bands and artists and worked professionally as a visual merchandiser within retail.

In 2012, she was awarded Gold in the category Own Work for the project I’ll See You Later I Guess, which was exhibited at Fotografiens Hus in Oslo. She currently works at Kuben museum og arkiv on the digitization and public accessibility of two large analog press photo archives from Agder (1972–2002), while developing ongoing photographic projects rooted in her hometown of Lista.
